  • The Belt Contractor is required to carry out the following Visual Inspection prior to using any winch.

  • 1. Check wire rope is equal to or greater than the specification as marked on the data plate and is in good condition.

  • 2. Check all leads and cables for cuts, broken wires and loose plugs etc.

  • 3. Check pendent control cable and control pendent is in a legible casing in good <br>condition, buttons working and is in generally good condition.

  • 4. Check drive motor is securely bolted and grade 8.8 bolts as a minimum are used.

  • 5. Check guards are in place, secure and used.

  • 6. Check all bolts on mounting frame are in place and secure.<br>

  • 7. Visually check mounting frame for damage and cracks.<br>

  • 8. Check brake and clutch are operating correctly.

  • 9. Air/hydraulic winches checked for leaks.<br>

  • 10. Air winches fitted with airline filters and lubricators and are maintained.<br>

  • 11. Test run winch in both forward and reverse.

  • 12. Winch securely anchored with rated chains or slings.<br>
