Pinch Drive/ Power Pack Pre-Start Checklist (Mines)
• 01. What is the belt pull calculations

 • 02. Check if the pinch drive used within the Working Load Limit (WLL)

 • 03. Check condition of Lifting points.

 • 04. Ensure belt pulling force do not exceed pinch drive capacity.

 • 05. Check that direction of rotation of the Belt Puller is correct

 • 06. Check for hydraulic leaks on the pump, motor, hoses, and tension chain cylinders.

 • 07. Check all fitting match up with power pack. Check power supply cable and plug (if fitted) are suitable for use.

 • 08. Check all the tie downs counter weights /Chain rating /bolting down arrangement met the pull calculation.

 • 09. Ensure pulling plate is correct and within the Working Load Limit (WLL) of line pull.

 • 10. Check for hydraulic oil level.

 • 11. Ensure work area can accommodate the dimension of pinch drive / power pack.

 • 12. Ensure work platform can accommodate the weight of pinch drive / Power pack

 • 13. Check pinch drive for structural damage, cracked welds, bents, bolts & welds.

 • 14. Check all the electrics are free from moisture and dirt.

 • 15. Check guards for damage, loose bolts etc.

 • 16. Check pinch drive pulley's for damage and sign of deformation of lagging

 • 17. Check tie down chains & binders where applicable.

 • 18. Check belt puller / Power pack isolation are operational
Electrical: key access switch on the control panel that isolates power from control lever to the input of the swash plate control.
Mechanical : Lockable isolation valves on the hydraulic oil delivery and return lines preventing flow to the main supply hoses.

 • 19. Check setting pressure on the tension chain assembly.

 • 20. Ensure that an appropriate form of communication protocol exists between the Belt Puller and other equipment used in the belt installation.

 • 21. Check that power cable and oil lines are laid out such that they will not sustain damage or become a hazard

 • 22. IRCP no. fitted for BHP asset.
