  • 1. Check if the winder or stand are used within the Working Load Limit (WLL)

  • 2. Ensure winder and or belt reeling stand have been secured back to adequate counterweights or structure

  • 3. Ensure belt pulling force do not exceed winder capacity at full reel condition

  • 4. Ensure shaft length is correct and within the Working Load Limit (WLL)

  • 5. Ensure work area can accommodate the dimension of winder or stand

  • 6. Ensure the belt do not exceed maximum reel diameter capacity

  • 7. Ensure winder platform can accommodate the weight of winder and stand

  • 8. Check winder & belt stands for structural damage, cracked welds, bent, or damaged beams, working platform, and handrails.

  • 9. Check guards for damage, loose bolts etc.

  • 10. Check shaft assembly and coupling for damage and sign of deformation

  • 11. Check bolts on shaft hold down caps, hinges & welds.

  • 12. Check front roller & bearings condition (visual only).

  • 13. Check chains & links where applicable.

  • 14. Check winder and stand operation or functionality

  • 15. Check hydraulic hoses and tank for leaks and safety caps, pins, oil level and connections are in good order.

  • 16. Check condition of lifting points

  • 17. Check electrical tag is current and readable.

  • 18. Check all electrical leads for cuts, loose and broken wires.

  • 19. Check pendant control cable & pendant casing is in good working condition

  • 20. Emergency stops are working.

  • 21. Ensure the bushes are dust free and lubricated prior to the operation.

  • 22. Ensure the bushes and gears lubricated prior to the operation.

  • 23. Ensure the spacer is used to secure the belt reel movement.

  • 24. IRCP no. fitted for BHP asset.

  • 25. Has 1 meter barricading zone been set up for winder or reeling stand

  • 26. Has brakes on reeling stands been backed off or set for the line pull.
