  • Instructions: This inspection is to be completed by the Berries Shipping Manager and or assigned Supervisor/Foreman, daily, prior to the start of operations. Questions with responses such as "NO" or "N/A" require a comment/corrective action. Completed inspections will be signed off by the Food Safety Qualified Individual .

Employees

  • Are there any employees showing signs of illness or open, infected wounds?

  • Is your area GMP compliant; drinks/food on forklifts, tobacco use in designated areas, gum? Refer to GMP Policy.

  • Hygiene; are employees washing and/or sanitizing their hands, do outer garments and shoes appear to be clean and not soiled? Refer to Hygiene Policy.

  • Are employees wearing safety vests and have all required PPE?

  • Are contractors wearing safety vests and using all required PPE? If no contractors are on-site, mark "N/A"

  • What contractor is on-site and has the facilities dept. been notified?

MACS General Area (outside)

  • Is the area organized and free of unnecessary items, garbage or excess supplies?

  • Are the storage containers organized and kept closed while not in use?

  • Are Operator tools, sheds and working equipment/tools put away in designated storage areas? This includes spray cans and other containers, alike.

  • Is pest control in place? No damaged or missing traps, bird netting in-tact, spider-webs, etc.

Cold Room B

  • Is Organic product stored separately from conventional, with signage posted?

  • Are drains kept clear, free of product and pallet debris?

  • Are floors free of trash, product and pallet debris, including stickers and smashed fruit?

  • Are the under the racks clean and free of product and pallet debris?

  • Is the Tectrol area organized and free of trash and excess materials?

  • Are curbs free of boxes, shipping materials, and other miscellaneous items? 18" clearance?

  • Are fire extinguishers, pedestrian pathways and doors free of pallets (not obstructed)?

  • Are trailer plugs adequately stocked near the loading doors and are the containers in-tact?

  • Is the interior and exterior loading dock operational and in a clean and sanitary condition?

Miscellaneous

  • Are golf carts in good and clean condition (free of garbage, dirt and is operable)?

  • Is the employee break room and outside area clean? (no food/drink left out, microwaves clean, trash emptied, racks free of old lunches/drinks)

  • Are parking lots (vehicle and forklift) in clean condition? (free of garbage, spill marks, spider webs (fence), weeds, etc.)
