Fire, Safety & Environment

  • Pump room fire extinguishers charged & serviced (6 monthly)?

  • Internal & external lighting operating correctly?

  • Exit lighting operating correctly?

  • Fire alarm system in operation and checked within last month?

  • Fire extinguisher checked within last 6 months?

  • Date of last check?

  • Access doors are unobstructed?

  • Hearing protection signage OK?

  • Hearing protection (ear plugs) are available?

  • Any chemicals, fuels or oils are stored in a bunded area and MSDS is available on site?

  • Electrical equipment, plugs and extension leads are tagged and tested?

  • Work areas are tidy and free of rubbish?

  • E-Stop check undertaken

  • Date of last check

  • E-Stops are to be tested monthly by deactivating all pumps via the PLC. Once the pumps have stopped all operations, engage the Emergency Stop and attempt to restart the pump via PLC. A fault against the emergency stop is to be recorded if the pumps are able to be restarted.
    Following a successful test, that emergency stop switch is to be released, the alarms on the PLC reset and the pumps restarted in the usual manner.
