FIRE SAFETY IN COMMON AREAS

  • Are the fire extinguishers either wall mounted or on a provided stand designated at fire points free of any obstructions i.e.:housekeeping , materials,brooms,mops etc.

  • Are fire extinguishers free of visible damage -seals intact and no visible damage to the body of the extinguisher

  • Are all fire exit doors and interleaving doors free of obstructions

  • Are toilets clean and not leaking ,flushing properly,and sufficient ventilation provided or extraction

  • Are cleaners cupboards ,stores,roof access,storerooms,and vacant areas secured to prevent unauthorized entry to building materials,consumables

  • Are levels of cleaning suitable to standards

  • Are all corridors,landings,foyers,receptions free of obstructions

LIFT SAFETY

  • Are car alarms,telephones,or bell notifier fitted in the elevator

  • Are lift doors sensors working

  • Does the lift car land evenly with the floor landing

  • Is the lift car free of trip hazards

  • Is the safe loading displayed in the lift

  • Is the goods lift been used as designed

ROOF ,LOFT AREAS

  • Is access to the roof area secured and restricted from in authorized persons

  • Are parapets,rails,ladders,and access arrangements secure to the structure and in a good state

  • Are roof areas free of debris

EXTERNAL STRUCTURE AND AREAS

  • Is refuse,rubbish stored correctly for removal,disposal

  • Is the property free of pest activity

  • In icy or wet conditions are the routes suitable for traveling public or user sufficient slip strips etc

  • Are external escape routes free of obstructions

  • Is the exterior lighting working

  • Are external escape rules not obstructed with parking vehicles or materials

  • Are drains and covers in place

  • Are boundary walls and fences in a good state

  • Is the landscaping in a good state and not present areas where vagrants or unauthorized persons to be hiding

  • Is signage clear and up to date including disclaimer

  • Are gutters and down pipes in place and inspected for blockages or debris or missing

PLANT AREAS

  • Are all plant rooms clean and tidy

  • Is rubber matting in place where the voltage control panels are present

  • Are riser cupboards locked and not been used for storage

  • Are chemicals stored properly with the msds present and the safety instructions

  • Does all plant operations visibly to be functioning

DOCUMENTATION

  • Have the water hygiene checks been done and recorded

  • Are all water outlets that are not been used regularly been flushed and records been kept<br>

  • Alarms that have been disabled was there a notification and when to be reinstated

  • Are insurances that are stocked in the building a record been kept of inventory

  • Are building maintenance records up to date and copies kept.

  • Do contractors report onsite when arrive and leave and operating in a safe work procedure
