Opening

  • Clean outside front entrance sweep and remove rubbish. Check for graffiti. Report any maintenance.

  • Collect last 2 floats out of safe as required. Count before placing in till.

  • Check lane allocations are correct for the day.

  • Bring in bins from street (Wednesday)

  • Cover lifeguard on pool deck for pool tests.

  • Check pool test results. Sign off. Make necessary adjustments.

  • Check weather report and ensure enough staff are rostered. Check UV rating and notify life guard.

  • Collect lost property from all areas. Ensure recorded on register and place in storeroom bin.

  • Sign off on lifeguard cleaning checklist.

  • Complete close plant checklist.

  • Cover lifeguard to complete pool tests.

  • Check pool test results. Make necessary adjustments. Sign off.

  • Backwash pools if required.

  • Assist lifeguard with auto vac and pool covers.

  • Lock doors to pool area.

  • Sign off on lifeguard closing checklist.

  • Double count floats and place in safe.

  • Double check cash from both tills,measure tills balance.

  • Bank daily takings using Comm bag and drop in safe.

  • Shut down all computers.

  • Leave notes in DM diary for the next day.

  • Ensure change rooms are cleared.

  • Check all areas for patrons. Lock doors (health club, pool deck, change rooms, group fitness rooms, multipurpose rooms, staff rooms, office area).

  • Check and lock all external doors (plant room doors, exits to outside pools, stadium doors).

  • Turn off lights and services as required.

  • Ensure cleaners are present otherwise turn on alarm and leave via front door.
