Safety Discussion - Chain of Responsiblity

  • This talk is to ensure that all workers understand the requirements for Soldier Tower Cranes and their responsibility under the "Chain of Responsibility Requirements" - the LAW !

The Chain of Responsibility (CoR) law ensures everyone who works with heavy vehicles – from the business that employs a driver to the place where goods are delivered – is accountable for safety.

For Soldier - this means we must ensure the driver understand the:

    1. The driver is aware of the size of the load he is transporting
    2. The driver is not fatigued (in our view)
    3. We need to confirm the route he will follow with our load - noting Tunnels/bridges etc that he must AVOID.
    4. We must remind the driver about fatigue, breaks and reporting incidents.

The Solder COR checklist covers all the required items.

COR - Soldier Company Policy

  • Pass around and/or read the "Chain of Responsibility policy" to all the workers

  • Ask if all the workers present have read and understand the policy ?

  • Enter any feedback or questions from the workers .

COR - Soldier Requirements

  • The supervisor is required to ensure the "COR Handover Checklist" is completed when a trucking company (Logistics) is moving any items for Soldier Tower Cranes. The Handover checklist is on iAuditor and must be performed.

  • If any workers have concerns about items related to transport, delivery or items related to the competency of the driver/trucking company - then you must alert the Soldier Site Supervisor immediately.
