Description of Location

A. Safety/Housekeeping

  • Scrap material picked up

C. Installation

  • Confirm all unused hangers have been removed

  • Verify piping runs parallel and perpendicular to building lines

  • Verify no piping travels above any electrical equipment

  • Verify there is a minimum of 1" of clearance above all upright sprinkler heads

  • Sprinkler heads below 8' in exposed areas to be provided with cages

  • Confirm all penetrations through sound and fire rated walls are caulked and fire-safed accordingly

  • Verify sprinkler heads are centered in ceiling tiles

  • Verify unions are installed adjacent to each valve

  • Verify drain valves are installed @ low points and labeled

  • Verify that hanger spacing on piping 2" and smaller does not exceed 12'

  • Verify that hanger spacing on piping 2" and larger does not exceed 15'

  • Verify that unsupported arm-over lengths to pendant heads does not exceed 12"

  • Verify that there is a hanger within 12" of the last takeoff on a pipe run to a pendant sprinkler head

  • Verify that there is a hanger within 4' of the last take off on a run to an upright head

  • Verify that all piping is supported from structure (not ductwork, raceways, etc.)

  • Verify ID signs are provided adjacent to all control valves, drains, and test connections

  • Verify each standpipe is labeled

  • Verify no pipe welding is occuring

  • Verify that all pipe ends are capped or sealed until final connection

  • Verify unused hangers are removed

  • Verify that all valves are installed with stems upright and horizontal

  • Verify that all valves/fittings have required access, clearance, and operation

  • Verify that chain wheel operators or ladders are provided for all valves not accessible from the floor

D. Storage and Protection

  • Materials are stored on dunnage and protected/covered
