Emergency Preparedness

  • Is Emergency Assembly Point signage in place?

  • Emergency escape routes are clear and not compromised?

  • Are flammable material/liquids/gases stored correctly?

  • Fire extinguishers in place, clearly marked for type of fire?

  • Date Fire Extinguisher last serviced?

  • Are Hot Work permits in use and available to view?

  • Generators are checked and serviced and cited appropriately, fuel tanks bunded?

  • Is there a fully stocked spill kit on site? (if appropriate)

  • First aid kit present and clearly visible?

  • Accidents and near missed are recorded?

  • Date of last accident or near miss

  • Who is the qualified First Aider on site?

  • Emergency numbers are on display?

Protecting the Public

  • Is site perimeter fenced off appropriately with required site public signage posted?

  • All entries and exists closed and locked at night and during weekends?

  • All unattended plant, ladder, and equipment are immobilized to prevent unauthorized use?

Scaffolding

  • Is there Scaffolding on site?

  • Are scaffolds constructed and erected only by qualified and trained personnel?

  • Is scaffolding tagged and being inspected regularly by a competent person?

Ladders

  • Are Ladders in use on site?

  • Are all Ladders industrial strength? (non household rated, check label)

  • Are ladders in good condition?

  • If used for electrical work are ladders non conductive? (wood or fibre glass)

Roof Works

  • Are Roof Works applicable to this site?

  • Are roof access permits enforced?

  • Is there adequate edge protection to stop people or materials failing?

  • Is work restricted under areas with persons working at height, cordoned off with sign in place?

Manual Handling/Lifting

  • Does Manual Handling occur on this site?

  • Where possible mechanical plant is utilized to minimize the need for manual handling?

  • Are lifting operations being carried out safely and RAMS held on site?

  • Are LOLER certs and inspections available for lifting equipment and attachments?

Electricity

  • Electricial work and hand tools used on site

  • Are all electrical tools 110V and PAT tested?

  • Are controls are in place to ensure 'Live working' is strictly forbidden?

  • Only suitably trained and competent persons undertake electrical work

Vehicles on site

  • Contractor vehicles are parked only in agree locations

  • Comment if any special arrangements have been put into place

  • Only suitably trained banksman with hi-vis jacket is used to control vehicle movements
