  • Check building is vermin and insect proof (eg sealed pipe penetrations under sinks and vanity basins, or cracks beside juncture of cupboards and walls etc)

  • Tiles graded and drained fall to floor wastes, laid level and plumb, even, cut edges sanded, grouting quality, abutting joints caulked. Finishes to wet areas.

  • Ensure building is built in accordance with approved plans

  • Check light and ventilation (mechanical ventilation) to all rooms

  • Kitchen/Bathroom/Bedroom joinery installed square, unmarked, sealed against walls, doors adjusted, visible screws in lin and evenly spaced, handles fitted correctly, clean

  • All trenches adequately backfilled to resist sinking

  • Clean windows, frames, tracks, cupboards, bathroom, laundry, kitchen, WC, walls, doors and sills, fixtures checked and stickers removed.

  • Clean site free of rubbish, bricks and disused materials

  • Check if there are any requisitions outstanding from previous inspections

  • All energy efficiency provisions complied with

  • Have you issued a site instructions

  • List any notes/ directions that have been given/noted
