Welfare facilities sufficient for number of workers on site. Adequate lighting, heating and ventilation. Welfare facilities are clean and waste removed. Drinking water available and cups provided. Hot/warm water, soap and towels/hand dryers available. Site security (fences, gates etc). Pedestrian routes.

Waste Removal, site tidiness, well kept, internally and externally. Dust levels kept to a minimum, storage and stacking of materials. De-nailing, suitable and sufficient storage for materials, including hazardous products

Right waste being put in the right skips. Waste being removed by a licenced waste carrier. Oil/diesel storage are in bunds and no evidence of significant spillages, spill kits available. Public/private nuisance (dust, noise, lighting etc). Works have no impact to flora and fauna

Storage of materials (safe, prevent loss, damage or contamination). COSHH assessments are available and communicated to workers. COSHH controls detailed in the assessment are being complied with.

Fire risk assessment and fire-fighting equipment suitable and sufficient. Fire escape routes are free from obstruction. Fire prevention controls in place (permit system, debris removal, no smoking on site). First aid provision is suitable and sufficient to the size of the project.

Risk of working with or around electricity have been identified and documented, work on electricity is done by competent people only, electrical equipment is suitable for the work and in good condition, portable electrical equipment is tested and recorded, fixed wiring is tested and recorded

All gas work is undertaken by competent people

Slip and trip hazards, sufficient management of all elements of working at height, ladders and steps used in accordance with the Working At Height Regs, short duration low risk etc. Suitable and sufficient measures in place to prevent falls from roofs, voids, excavations. Edge protection in place as required

Fit for purpose, adequately tied/secured, inspection regime. All relevant parts fitted (Handrails, toe boards etc). All ladders used as access/egress secured. Working platforms free from obstruction & tidy, tubing level & plumb, base plates fitted & supported. Towers not moved whilst persons on board. Scaffolds & Tower Scaffolds erected/altered/dismantled by competent persons (Proof of training required). Brakes applied to tower when in use, not overloaded, max height not exceeded.

Risks of manual handling have been identified and recorded, mechanical aids are used to move heavy items when possible, workers are trained in manual handling

Excavations are undertaken by competent people, excavation work is suitably planned to reduce risk of collapse of excavations, falling or dislodging materials, people or vehicles falling in, undermining nearby structures, coming in to contact with underground services, damage to trees or animal habitat, inflow of ground or surface water, excavations are regularly inspected by a competent person

Plant is checked before use, used in designated areas only, only used by competent people, arrangements in place to report and manage damaged plant & equipment, plant is regularly inspected and inspections are recorded. Drip trays in place when using generators. Refuelling operations are controlled. Examination certificates are held on site.

All tool used are suitable for the job, assessments have been undertaken on vibrating tools, low voltage tools used on site
