SSOW 69A Social Distancing on Bus

SSOW 74 Contractors & Visitors

SSOW 69D Engineering Areas

  • 69. Where two person lifting or engineering work activities are essential, face coverings are worn.

SSOW 79 Spit Kits

  • 90. All spitting incidents are reported to the police as a criminal offence.

  • 91. Used spit kits are given to the police at the scene as evidence or later to the police station by the driver reporting.

SSOW 71 Face coverings during Covid

  • 93. This SSOW is displayed in all staff areas.

SSOW 73 First Aid during Covid

  • 96. This SSOW has been issued to all First Aid colleagues

  • 98. The PPE detailed in this SSOW is available to staff. Nitrile gloves, face masks, sanitiser, wipes, clear face splash mask, disposable apron.

  • 99. The first aid room is subject to enhanced cleaning with detergent and disinfectant. Records of cleaning scheduled displayed.

  • 100. First aider has attended the covid awareness training on the university platform.

Fire Wardens

  • 101. Fire wardens have attended the covid awareness training on university platform.

Canteens & Staff Restaurants

  • 102. Canteens and restaurants serving substantial food have a covid secure risk assessment .

  • 103. Seating is limited to 1 chair per table and are separated by at least 2 m distance.

  • 104. Where possible a one way system is in place.

  • 105. Hand sanitiser is available and regularly refilled.

INCREASED CONTROLS DUE TO TRANSMISSIBILITY OF THE VIRUS - JAN 21

  • 1. Increase covid marshal levels and visibility across the site and at entrance points.

  • 2. Stricter controls at site entrances to check compliance with face cover wearing and use of sanitiser.

  • 3. Introduce active questioning of those entering site, asking if they have symptoms or feel unwell at the entrance point. This will cover peak sign on periods.

  • 4. Display signs and posters and electronic media for staff, raising the profile of the heightened risk of the latest virus mutation and its ability to spread.

  • 5. Place greater emphasis on social distancing and the need to maintain 2 m - review one way systems were applicable.

  • 6. Have conversations with staff about avoiding a few moments in someone’s company at work even with face coverings.

  • 7. If you can, you must work from home.

  • 8. Provide improved ventilation solutions to keep fresh air flowing. Review controls for rooms without windows and toilets. Eliminate stale air.

  • 9. Enforce room capacity controls. 1 office 1 person if a small office. Maximise spacing in larger office areas and reduce people.

  • 10. Where screens have been put in place, check, are they wide enough, high enough? And subject to regular enhanced cleaning?

  • 11. Shared workstation must have a wipe down procedure in place before and after each user.

  • 12. All control,panels, doors, common touchpoints cleaned down every hour - colleagues will carry wipes for use in shared areas.

  • 13. Shared shuttle vehicles reviewed, rule, one person per van, and effective wipe downs before and after use.

  • 14. Monitor higher risk areas such as canteens, smoking shelters, toilets and changing rooms.

  • 15. Send comms to staff asking them to ring 119 and attend NHD testing centres to check if they have the virus and if they do, they MUST a self isolate.

  • 16. Issue a joint statement to staff from the MD and TU, explaining the risk and encouraging behavioural change by everyone to avoid the spreading of the virus.

  • 17. Report non compliance as a near miss on the safety tool box and ex alert to senior managers for serious breaches.
