Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Qualifications Required: Although formal academic qualifications are not essential, as a minimum, one must hold the relevant CSCS Roofing Advanced Craft Supervisor Card and Certification. Good communication skills (English) and an ability to understand technical drawings and understand details such as load-bearing (maths) are useful.<br><br> Role: A CSCS Roofing Advanced Craft Supervisor is someone who holds the established trade Advanced craft competency for the roofing industry, enabling them to partake in the erection, alteration and dismantling of all roofing systems operations. <br><br>You must be able to read and interpret complex design drawings. Although this does not apply to all , you will often be required to lead operations as a black hat/charge hand in roofing gangs carrying out all types (Basic & Advanced) of roofing works. You must be capable of supervising roofers, trainees, and labourers who are gaining experience towards their certification and setting an example to less experienced colleagues whilst ensuring that jobs are completed safely and promptly. <br><br> Key Skills: CSCS Roofing Advanced Craft Supervisors must be physically fit, have good communication skills, be punctual, organised, and diligent.<br><br> Responsibilities: <br><br> Erect, alter or dismantle all roofing operations as required in a safe and timely manner.<br> Use tools and materials safely in conjunction with the job-specific Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS)<br>Ensure the safety of operatives, other trades, and members of the public.<br> Maintain knowledge, skill levels and Continual Professional Development to carry out duties effectively. <br> Ensure adequate resources and materials are on-site to progress the project.<br> Liaise with the site management team to ensure the smooth progress of the project, attending site meetings and reporting site progress to managers/supervisors and clients when required.<br> Supervise roofing operatives to ensure that work is carried out to client expectations in line with safety protocols, time limits and budget expectations.<br> Report all accidents to the SHEQ department and/or Operations Director.<br><br> Typical day: Lots of physical work is guaranteed. Can vary widely depending on the location and sectors you are working in, e.g., street work, civils, engineering, power stations, railway, underground infrastructures, offshore, events, etc. <br>
