Curtain wall frame inspection

General

  • Is frame set out to correct gridline and datum?

  • Is frame level and plum?

  • Deflecting block installed and sealed

  • Is the movement gap as per detail 10-15mm?

Fixings and brackets

  • Are brackets isolated where needed?

  • Are the correct flat plates fixed to the set dimensions?

  • Are the correct galvanised packing shims used?

  • Are the correct fixings (countersunk on SFS & tek head on mullion) used?

  • Have the bolts been torqued to the correct settings.?

Gasket

  • Has the correct gasket been used?

  • Is gasket clean and damage free?

  • Have vulcanised corners been fitted and sealed correctly?

  • Are drainage channels clear of debris?

  • Is frame clean and clear of debris?

  • Are thermal breaks in acceptable condition?

Glass inspection

  • Have the correct shoes been used ?

  • Is the glass even to the gasket margins?

  • Is the glass sitting on packers ?

  • Glass free from damage and clean ?

  • Correct glass spec use for frame type and location ?

PRESSURE PATES & CAPS

  • Have the correct pressure plates been use?

  • Have the plastic washers been used ?

  • Have the correct length screws been used and torqued to the correct settings.?

  • Is there a deflection gap as per detail?

  • Have the correct caps been used and a maximum of 3mm gap between mullion and transom ?

FIRE STOPS

  • Have all fire stops been installed correctly & spec used I.E correct fixings, brackets, compression, fire mastic?
