  • Daily CTST inspection

  • Safety Officer/Officers completing the inspection?

Personal Protective Equipment

  • Are hard hats, eye protection, hand protection, hearing protection and proper footwear being utilized by staff and students?

  • Does equipment have proper guarding?

Fire Safety and Prevention

  • Fire extinguishers are adequate, inspected, and charged. First aid kits are available and stocked.

  • Are all access and egress points clear of obstructions?

  • Is the area cluttered with combustible materials which could present a fire hazard? (Boxes, trash, or packing materials)

Hazard Communication

  • Are chemicals properly labeled?

  • Supervisor has up to date SDS for each hazardous chemical product in their respective area?

Asbestos Operations

  • Is asbestos on site

  • Are warning signs posted warning of asbestos?

Confined Spaces

  • Are center personnel permitted to enter confined spaces?

  • Are confined spaces identified and labeled?

Respiratory Protection

  • Do work activities expose personnel to airborne contaminates that meet or exceed PELs or action levels for known respiratory hazards?

  • Are asbestos or lead particles going to be disturbed by renovations or repairs?

Hearing Conservation

  • Are hazardous noise area posted with warning signs

  • Is hearing protection offered at no cost to personnel, appropriate for the task, and provide proper noise attenuation ?

Lead exposure

  • Are appropriate warning signs posted in regulated area

  • Are there activities which may disturb lead such as sanding?

Lockout Tag out Program

  • Is there serving activities which take place outside of normal minor adjustments or tooling changes? (If yes a plan is required)

Electrical Safety

  • 36" Clearance is maintained around electrical and circuit breaker panels and they are labelled.

  • Electrical cords are rated for commercial use?

  • Electrical items in safe working condition?

Floor and walking surfaces

  • Are there slips, trips, or falls concerns?

  • Are top rails , mid rails, and toe guards in place and of adequate construction to withstand 200 lbs minimum?

Ladders and scaffolding

  • Are all ladders in safe condition, properly used, and properly stored.

  • Is scaffolding properly erected, inspected, and level?
