Daily Maintenance Checks

  • At the start of each day, your vehicle and trailer must be thoroughly checked in accordance with the attached checklist. These checks should be carried out AFTER you have inserted your tachograph chart or digital card, denoting that you have commenced work. Any defects must be recorded on a defect sheet and handed in to the fleet manager. In the event there are zero defects on either the powered unit or trailer, there is a nil defect report to be completed in the duplicate book provided and handed in to the fleet department. Serious defects which may effect safety or legality must be referred immediately to the fleet manager or your department manager, and the vehicle/trailer must not be taken on the road until any problems have been resolved.
