Pre-use Ladder Inspection

INSPECTION

  • What type of material is the ladder made of?

  • Wooden ladders are forbidden at DB Schenker. A replacement must be sourced.

  • Does the task include working with electricity?

  • Metal ladders whilst working with electricity are forbidden, a fibre glass/carbon fibre ladder must be sourced.

  • Ensure the ladder is used as per manufacturers instructions and as per your risk assessment.

  • Spreader: Is it loose, bent or broken?

  • The Ladder will need to be placed into quarantine and an action raised as per QSHE SOP 022. Apply a quarantine label to the ladder QSHE 121B
