  • Is there adequate fire directional signage in place?

  • Have all fire extinguishers been serviced in the last 12 months?

  • Are all fire extinguishers fully accessible?

  • Is all combustible material stored away from sources of ignition?

  • Where sprinklers are present, is there a minimum 500mm clearance maintained below the sprinkler head?

Work Equipment

  • Are the machine guards fitted to the underside of the conveyor belt?

  • Render the machine out of service and have the store call Vinci to arrange repair immediately.

Store Standards

  • Is the shop floor clean and tidy and free from trip hazards?

  • Are all isles fully accessible, including access for those with disabilities?

  • Are the toilets, and wash facilities at a suitable standard?

  • Is the Kitchen sink area, microwave and fridge clean and to an acceptable hygiene level?

  • Is the back of house maintained to an acceptable standard, no trailing cables or slip/trip hazards?

  • Are storage areas kept clean and tidy, with good levels of access and egress?

  • Is stock soared safely in storage areas with due consideration given to weight of product?

  • Have the display plinths been merchandised so as to reduce the risk of trips and falls?

  • Is the glazing to doors and windows fitted with manifestations to highlight their presence?

  • Is the floor surface front and back of house securely fitted, free from holes, damage or other hazard?

Electric and Comm's cupboards

  • Is the electric cupboard obstruction free and fully accessible?

  • Is the electric cupboard empty and clear of stored items and combustible material?

  • Is there a smoke alarm present in the cupboard?

  • Are the comm's units well ventilated and free from clutter?
