Confirms that Main Equipotential Bonding (MEB) is correctly fitted

What actions should you take if the MEB is located on either the service or inlet pipe?
Answer given:
Do not disconnect and contact your manager and leave card 1 with the customer
Inspects meter confirming the meter size is <6 m³hr (U6/G4/E6) and ensures correct adaptors to seal off the ECV/meter installation are to hand
Disconnection:
Advises customer to turn off any gas appliances in use
Uses the Voltstick prior to undertaking any work on any exposed metalwork to ensure it is safe to continue and repeats when necessary
Identifies suitable positions for Temporary Continuity Bonds (TCB) and ensures those areas are cleaned for good connection
Attaches the TCB to the cleaned areas ensuring that if an 'IJ' is present, it is not bridged

Answer given:
Completes the LIS/eLIS and / or GRR for all site investigations by using the Gas Escape Risk Assessment Matrix tables in accordance with current SGN procedures
Carries out and records final site investigation to confirm that there are no longer any gas readings
If the escape is not repaired, then carries out a further site investigation, completes the LIS/eLIS by using the Gas Escape Risk Assessment Matrix, selects the correct Risk Prioritisation Score and makes contact with the team manager to discuss the next actions
Marks or seals all barholes, as appropriate
Records accurately and reports to the appropriate personnel In the event of injury to members of the public or damage to property in accordance with statutory requirements and current SGN procedures
Informs promptly all the appropriate and affected personnel of the final outcome
