SPIRAL INSPECTION

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1. Please answer "Satisfactory", "️️️Adequate", "Unsatisfactory" or Not Applicable" on the questions below.
    2. Add Photos and Notes by clicking on the Paperclip icon.

    Status Coding:
    Satisfactory – Requires no work to be carried out
    Adequate – Will require service/repair but not immediate
    Unsatisfactory – Needs immediate repair or to be rectified as soon as possible

1. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

  • Check operation of all belt safety switches and control systems

  • Check operations of all emergency switches and control panel system

  • Check operation of door interlocks

  • Check operation of isolators

  • Check operation of internal lights

  • Check operation of ancillary electrical equipment (If fitted)

  • Check cables security and condition

  • Check condition of control panel

  • Check general condition of all motors

2. CONVEYING SYSTEM

  • Check condition of belt support flange and idle rollers

  • Check condition of belt drive 18 tooth sprockets

  • Check condition and grease all bearings

  • Check all belt support rails are level

  • Check condition of drum vertical bar wearstrips

  • Check condition of belt support rail wearstrips

  • Check condition of belt hold down wear strips (down drum) (If Fitted)

  • Check condition of belt edge guides

  • Check condition of belt return radius wearstrip (if fitted)

  • Check positioning and condition of product guides (if fitted)

  • Check condition of belt

  • Check shafts are positioned correctly and retainers washers fitted

  • Check welds for fatigue (Internal drum)

  • Check take-up assembly for damage

  • Check take-up dancing shaft moves freely

  • Check belt oiler system for damage/leaks (If fitted)

3. DRIVE SYSTEM

  • Check main drive gearbox oil level

  • Check overdrive or angle gearbox oil level

  • Condition of drum top and bottom bearings (If Fitted)

  • Record all drive motor currents

  • Condition of overdrive gearwheel/plate wheel (if fitted)

  • Condition and alignment of overdrive shaft and couplings

  • Number of teeth on gear / plate wheel (If Fitted)

  • Check chain guides for excessive wear (If fitted)

  • Check all sprockets and drum engagement teeth

4. EVAPORATOR

  • Condition of evaporator unit

  • Condition of evaporator headers and return bends

  • Check condition of fan units

  • Check Evaporator top hoods operates correctly (If Fitted)

  • Check Evaporator bottom hoods operate and close correctly (If Fitted)

  • Check drainage pipe top is intact and operates correctly (If Fitted)

  • Check operation of fluidisers (If fitted)

5. DECK

  • Check condition of deck

  • Check condition of deck rubber (If Fitted)

  • Check condition of drum doors and catches

6. ENCLOSURE

  • Check operation of door heaters

  • Check operation of floor heating

  • Check condition of external silicone joints

  • Check condition of internal silicone joints

  • Check floor condition of floor surface

  • Operation of door locks (internal and external)

  • Check condition of belt apertures

  • Check condition of enclosure panels

7. CIP SYSTEM

  • Check ‘Y’ strainer

  • Check operation of pressure switch

  • Check operation of flow switch

  • Check operation of pump

  • Check CIP sequence

  • Check for water/Air leaks

  • Check operation of valves

  • Check operation of drum spikes and venturi or dosing pump

  • Check nozzles

  • Check rotating nozzles (if fitted)

  • Check rotary coupling

  • Check SMS coupling are tight
