LADDERS

FIRE PROTECTION & PREVENTION

  • BBC Fire extingusiher present and properly tagged?

ELECTRICAL

  • All extension cords in good condition (no bare wires, no tape repairs, ground pins in place)?

  • GFCI protection used on temporary and permanent power?

  • Safe distances maintained from all overhead power lines?

FORKLIFTS & HEAVY EQUIPMENT

  • Trained operator, regular inspection and maintenance logs complete?

  • Lights, brakes, horn, back up alarm operative? Seat belts being used?

  • Charged fire extinguisher installed on all equipment?

  • Buckets, forks, blades of equipment on ground when parked?

  • Rated lifting attachments used on forklifts when rigging loads (no free rigging from forks)?

Drywall & Silica

  • No dry sanding of drywall without proper vaccum attachment? Controls in place to limit silica exposure - vacuum tools, etc.?

  • Silica Exposure Control Plan on site?

  • Proper PPE in place for silica exposures?

SCAFFOLDING

  • Is scaffold equipment in good working order? Working platform in sound condition?

  • Guardrails or safety rails used when on Baker Scaffolding?

  • Erected on solid, level ground and wheel casters locked?

  • Inspected by competent person daily before use? Inspection tag?

  • Maximum height 1 level prior to outriggers being used?

SCISSOR AND AERIAL LIFTS

  • All personnel tied off in scissor and aerial lifts (man lift, basket lift, snorkel lift, JLG, etc.)?

  • Safety chains in place on scissors lifts and gates secured closed on aerial lifts?

  • Operator certification?

  • Lifts inspected and in good/safe working condition?

WELDING AND CUTTING/OTHER HOT WORK

  • Goggles, gloves, proper clothing worn? Screens and shields used where necessary?

  • Welding leads and gases hoses protected and in good condition? Electrical equipment grounded?

  • Gas cylinders secured and upright. Fuel cylinders at least 20 ft from oxygen or separated by a firewall? Cylinder caps in place when stored?

  • Regulators in good condition and flashback arrestors in place?

  • Fire extinguishers in immediate work area? Inspection of fire hazards? Fire watch & hot work permits used where needed/required?

CONFINED SPACES

  • Have potential confined space been identified? Atmosphere tested? Permit required? Complete?

  • Confined space plan in place? Supervisors and Workers properly trained? Proper equipment and procedures in place and inspected regularly by competent person?
