  • DT Be Well Served Layouts

  • 2019 © McDonald's Corporation

  • Coin Changer Connections

  • INFORMATION SHEET: Crane Payment Industries (CPI) Coin Changer Connections to McDonald’s Registers

  • PORTS on Devices

  • The current coin changer supplied by Crane (CPI) has an RJ45 data port

  • The PAR register has an RJ45 port (8-pin) for COM1

  • PAN & NCR have an RJ50 port (10-pin) for COM1

  • VENDOR CABLES

  • CPI provides two data cables with every coin changer

  • An RJ45->RJ45 data cable labeled COIN DISP on one end and POS on the other

  • An RJ45->DB9 converter cable

  • PAN supplies a DB9->RJ50 converter cable with every JS-970

  • NCR has a DB9->RJ50 converter cable available to order if you’re connecting a coin changer, but it is not supplied unless ordered

  • PAR supplies a DB9->RJ45 converter cable if they know you’re connecting a coin changer on the POS Order

  • Here are the FINAL ANSWERS

  • HOW TO CONNECT CRANE Coin Changers to McDonald’s POS REGISTERS

  • Note: Cables are proprietary and have specific pinouts. Standard Ethernet cables will NOT work

  • PANASONIC JS-970 or NCR XR7 – You MUST use TWO Cables to connect

  • The COM1 Port on these registers is RJ50. You’ll need to obtain a cable from your POS vendor that converts RJ50-

>DB9

  • PAN: RJ50->DB9 converter cable JS-970KM9010-M (this cable is included with every JS-970 register)

  • NCR: RJ50->DB9 converter cable 1432-C337-0007 (not included – need to order separately)

  • Use this cable to connect to the register on the RJ50 port COM1

  • Included with your new coin changer is a DB9->RJ45 converter cable

  • Connect the DB9 to the register converter cable

  • Connect the RJ45 to the coin changer

  • PAR 8315 – Two Options

  • OPTION 1: The COM1 Port on these registers is RJ45. Included with your new coin changer is a RJ45->RJ45 cable

  • Look on the cable for the end labeled “POS”. Connect this to the PAR 8315 port COM1

  • Look on the cable for the end labeled “COIN DISP”. Connect this end to the Coin Changer

  • OPTION 2: If you have any issues, you can also use an alternate 2-piece cable connection similar to the PAN/NCR solution

  • PAR RJ45 to DB9 converter cable C4823-01 RJ45 (not included – need to order separately)

  • Use this cable from PAR to connect to the register on the RJ45 port COM1

  • Included with your new coin changer is a DB9->RJ45 converter cable

  • Connect the DB9 to the register converter cable

  • Connect the RJ45 to the coin change
