  • Are more than 90% of trains departing to the ports above their DEM level? (review previous months data)

Contact a Plant supervisor, Ports Inload Supervisor and/or OC controller:

  • Do they know how to check inbound train moisture levels?

  • Have they checked the dust risk forecast for the shift?

  • Are they able to explain the controls available to them to manage the risk? (e.g. conveyor sprays maximum setting, deluge sprays, assign an operator to manually hose product on conveyor etc).

  • Choose a mine - Is the utilisation rate of train load out sprays >90%?

Conveyors

  • Did you complete a verification on conveyors?

  • Review a selection of belt scraper maintenance tactics: are they completed and time confirmed?

Balanced Machines (stakcers, reclaimers, shiploaders)

  • Did you complete a verification on bulking activities?

  • Review operational inspections – are the balanced machine daily inspections being completed?

  • Is there any maintenance notifications assigned against dust suppression equipment?
