Responsibilities

  • Who they are responsible to on site and take instructions from

  • The responsibility of the contractor for the direct management of their own staff and others engaged by them whilst on site.

  • The responsibility of the contractor organisation to induct their own staff/sub-contractors (as laid out in this checklist)

  • The responsibility of the contractor to ensure their staff wear identification badges/security passes at all times when on site

  • The responsibility of the contractor to ensure compliance with site rules. (Explain expected behaviour, site hours etc)

  • The responsibility of the contractor to inform their host prior to any site work operations being undertaken

Emergency procedures (Fire and bomb threat etc)

  • Evacuation warning indication (bells, sirens, etc)

  • Escape routes (assembly points and building re-entry signal)

  • Raising the alarm

  • Additional procedures applicable to contractors work

Accident reporting/first aid provision

  • Procedures for reporting an accident or incident

Site conditions/restrictions

  • All work equipment shall be suitable for use and testes (PAT, calibration cents, etc)

  • Competent and trained staff only to use work equipment

  • Personal Protective Equipment (who supplies, and known areas that require PPE)

  • Permit to Work and other safe systems of work (requirement for and site conditions)

  • Hazardous operations/areas (known hazards or special conditions)

  • Smoking arrangements (no smoking site, designated smoking areas)

  • Drug and alcohol policy

  • Waste Management

  • Parking arrangements

  • Security

  • Access restrictions
