  • Follow lockout/tag out, fall protection, electrical safety and all applicable safety procedures in the following steps. If you have any questions concerning this procedure, ask your supervisor.

    Log all repairs made, problems found and adjustment made to this equipment. Inform your supervisor of any problems associated with this PM. Return the completed PM to your supervisor at end of your shit. All documentation is to be kept on file and a copy sent to the safety office.

  • Sweep the floor in the electrical panel room and dump the trash in the proper place. Return the trash can to the electrical panel room.

  • Check the main entrance door, doorframe, hinges and door closer for proper operation. Check the door seal, the door seal should be tight against the floor repair or replace if needed

  • Check that the rubber mats in electrical room for good repair and clean. To clean the mat, remove the antistatic mats from electrical room hose down with hot water and use soapy water and a brush to remove dirt and grease. Rinse anti-static mat with water and dry before returning to electrical room. The anti-static matting must be placed in front all electrical panels.

  • Check all lights for proper operation and are working properly. Repairs or replace as needed

  • Check electrical panels to ensure that the doors are shut and secure. Panel cover must be securely in place and doors are closed. Use a damp rag and wipe down the outside of the panels.

  • Check 110-volt panel covers to ensure they are securely in place and doors are closed. use a damp rag and wipe down the outside of the panels

  • Check that the CO2 fire extinguisher for the cover, extinguisher mounting bracket and the sign locating the extinguisher is in the electrical panel room. The fire extinguisher should have the monthly inspection date marked on the tag. Notify your supervisor if the monthly inspection have not been completed. Replace used fire extinguisher with fully charged extinguisher.

  • Check that a supply of lockout tags and out of service tags are in the electrical panel room.

  • Check the supply of fuses and heaters located in the electrical panel room. Replace supply of fuses and heaters as needed according to the list on wall by shelve. They should be placed on a shelf in the panel room.

  • Check for S.O. cords in electrical panel room. Notify your supervisor so plans can be made for the removal for the S.O. cords
