  • Equipment maintenance is performed when it is not operational.

  • Written program specifies: <br>• Roles and responsibilities; <br>• Who is responsible for maintaining a list of PITs and where the list is kept (E8.10-2.2);<br>• Inspection and control frequency; (4)<br>• Operating procedures;<br>• Employee training/certification requirements.<br><br>A revision log shall be included as part of the written program.

  • Written program is reviewed annually and updated as necessary. The revision log has been maintained to reflect the annual review and any other changes made to the written program throughout the year.

  • Supervisors , and all PIT Operators (forklifts, walking stackers, aerial lifts, etc.). receive formalized training, including exams, upon assignment and at least every three years thereafter.

  • Trainers are competent and qualified to train on the subject matter.

  • Site maintains a list of employees who are trained and authorized to operate PITs, the type of equipment they are authorized to operate and the date of last formalized training.

  • PM frequencies and criteria have been identified and is being performed.

  • Process has been enacted to assure shift inspections are occurring.

  • Process exists for reporting equipment deficiencies.

  • Yard Tractors are Included as PIT equipment, oepratorts are trained and certified same as PIT operators regardless of CMV.

  • Yard Tractors that are recognized as a CMV meet all the necessary requirements for operators as as well as procedures in Element 20 CMV

  • Employees have the knowledge to perform responsibilities (operation and inspections) and inspections occur as specified.

  • Equipment is taken out of service for safety issues when required.

  • Training and audits occur annually for 100% of PIT operators.
