Storage Areas

Chemical Safety

  • Are ladders being used according to manufacturers instructions? (Top step never used and secured).

  • Are ladders used for electrical work non conductive? (Wood or fiberglass.)

  • Are the proper style and type of ladders being used safely for the jobs being completed?

Fall Protection

  • Are proper fall prevention harnesses being used properly?

  • Are anchor points appropriate for the work being completed?

  • Are employees properly trained on how to properly use the safety harnesses, lanyards or other fall prevention equipment?

  • Are fall protection devices in good working condition?

Scaffolding

  • Do all probable/mobile stairs have the proper handrails, mid-rails and if necessary kick plates installed?

  • Is mobile scaffolding being used properly? (Footings locked, no surfing)

  • Is scaffolding being used on a level surface with secured footings?

  • Are scissors lifts being used as an alternative to scaffolding or ladders?

Emergency Response

  • Are first aid cabinets contents regularly checked for expired contents?

  • Are first aid responders available on site?

  • Are emergency numbers displayed?

  • Are first aid responders trained on recognizing, handling and disposing of Bloodborne Pathogens for both employees and customers?

Office Exposures

  • Tasks designed to prevent ergonomic stressors ? (Breaks included.)

  • Office temperatures regularly maintained?

  • Stable non-slip floor coverings in good condition?

Vehicles

  • Is there a scheduled maintenance program for company vehicles?

  • Is there a scheduled maintenance program for non company owned vehicles?

  • Are personal cars used and checked for proper maintenance?

  • Are personal insurance limits for non-company cars at appropriate limits? (500,000/1,000,000/500,000)

  • Is the company using any type of tracking devise on vehicles?

  • Is there a post accident drug test for employees?

  • Is there a continuous MVR check program completed throughout employees employment?

  • Is there a progressive disciplinary program established and followed?

  • Is there a policy on use of cell phones while driving?

  • Does the company have CDL licensed drivers?

  • Are DOT regulations being followed?

  • Are there hold harmless agreements signed by non company car drivers?

  • Are all vehicles equipped with proper safety features, fire extinguishers and first aid kits?
