Walkways

  • Are biohazard containers emptied? <br>

  • Is a first aid kit readily available? Is the first aid kit complete? Are all items in it current (not expired)? Are there first aid kits in both the office and the shop areas? <br>

Tools and Equipment

  • Have damaged tools been red tagged and removed from service? <br>

  • Have repaired tools been yellow tagged and placed back into service? <br>

Vehicles

  • Are logbooks current? <br>

  • Have daily inspection logs been filled out for each vehicle? <br>

  • Is there a serviceable fire extinguisher in the vehicle with a valid monthly and annual inspection? <br>

  • Are there current SDS in the vehicle? Must available in either hard copy or electronic format. <br>

  • Are there at least 3 flares or warning triangles in the truck? <br>

  • Are there Incident reporting forms in the vehicle? <br>

  • Is there a complete first aid kit in the vehicle? Is it up to date? <br>

  • Are there spare bulbs and tools required for the vehicle in the glove box? <br>

Personal Protective Equipment and Clothing

  • Are protective goggles, safety glasses or face shields provided and worn where there is any danger of flying particles, corrosive materials or chemical exposures? <br>

  • Do associates wear hard hats where there is a potential to overhead hazards? <br>

Machine Guarding

  • Is all machinery and equipment kept clean and properly maintained? <br>

  • Are all guards in place on the machines? I.e. chip guards, guards for belts, gears, rotating or reciprocating blades, and any other running<br> nip points. <br>

  • Is compressed air pressure controlled, PPE, or other safeguards used to protect associates from eye and body injury? <br>

  • Are fan blades protected with a guard with openings not more than a 1/4" when operating within 7 feet of the floor. <br>

Electrical

  • Do extension cords have a grounding conductor and used only for temporary power? <br>

  • Is permanent equipment permanently wired? <br><br>

  • Are GFCI outlets provided in proper location (kitchen, bathroom, outside, wet & damp locations) and tested monthly? <br><br>

  • Is sufficient access and working area provided and maintained about all electrical equipment to permit ready and safe operations and maintenance (is access to electrical panels clear<br> -- 3' perimeter)? <br>

  • Are all unused openings (including knockouts) in electrical enclosures and fittings closed with proper fitting plugs, covers or plates? <br>

  • Are electrical enclosures such as switches, receptacles, junction boxes, etc covered with tight fitting plates or covers? <br>

Yard

  • Is the dumpster area neat, clean, and orderly? <br>

  • Is material stored to prevent tipping or collapsing? Is the material protected from the weather? <br>

  • Is the yard free from debris or material that may cause injury to an associate or damage to a vehicle. <br>

Forklift

  • Has the forklift been inspected daily? <br>

  • Are all guards in place? <br>

  • Is the fire extinguisher serviceable with a valid Monthly and annual inspection? <br>

  • Is there a serviceable hard hat available for operations? <br>

  • Is forklift stored properly when not in use? LP tank valve closed or tank removed? <br>
