HEALTH AND SAFETY AUDIT - CONTRACTOR

HEALTH AND SAFETY DOCUMENTATION

  • Are risk assessments accessible by the contractor and appropriate to the task? (Contractor to evidence their RA)

  • Do the risk assessments identify all the relevant hazards and control measures?

  • Can the contractor evidence their dynamic/site specific risk assessment

  • Are COSHH assessments accessible and appropriate to the task?

  • Are COSHH substances stored correctly?

  • Is the contractor aware of the accident reporting procedure?

  • Is a Permit to Work in place where required? Are they being followed?

  • Is the contractor wearing all relevant ID badges?

PPE

ASBESTOS

  • Is there evidence that the contractor has undergone asbestos awareness training?

  • Does the contractor know what to do if they suspect asbestos is present?

WORK AT HEIGHT

  • Is the correct access equipment being used for the task?

  • Are all ladders being used the correct classification, inspected and tagged?

  • Where specialist access equipment is being used, Scaffold, MEWPS etc., is there evidence that it is being used by competent persons and all required documentation in place?

  • Has the contractor received work at height training?

JOB SPECIFIC

  • Is the activity being carried out safely?

  • Does the contractor have the correct tools to carry out the job safely?

  • Is the area clean, tidy and in a safe condition, minimising trip hazards?

VEHICLE & WELFARE

  • Does the contractor have first aid provisions and can they demonstate what they would do if require first aid?

  • Is the contractors vehicle in good condition? (Representing Evolve on site)

  • Is the contractors vehicle parked in a safe position?

  • Does the contractor have hand cleaning and sanitising products available?

ENVIRONMENTAL

  • Is waste being disposed of correctly?

  • Has hazardous waste been disposed of correctly?

  • Have attempts been made to reduce, reuse, recycle waste where appropriate prior to disposal?

  • Is a copy of the waste carrier licence available if required?
