Handrails and Guardrails

  • Are handrails/guardrails present on a least one side for any stair that is over four risers?

  • Do any unused refrigerators have doors removed?

  • Is garbage being placed in garbage cans and being removed from property as needed?

Occupancy Limitations

  • Habitable rooms are at least 7' wide in any direction.

  • Every bedroom is at least 70 square feet or 50 square feet per bedroom occupant.

  • Kitchens have a minimum of 3' passage.

  • Minimum ceiling height is 7' (with exceptions).

  • Every living room is at least 120 square feet.

  • Bedrooms are not the only means to exit other rooms.
