No Power Troubleshooting

  • What is the installation type?

  • Is there power at customer POE/ External CSP

  • Have you shined the red light from POE/ External CSP

  • Can you see the red light in the FDH

  • Are you sure you are troubleshooting in the correct FDH

  • Please take a walk around the building and locate the FDH (Add Media)

  • Please take a pic of the FDH With lables as this could be a main fault in the line

  • Please find the correct FDH in order to continue with this form

  • Have you locate your customers fibre port

  • Take a picture of the current power reading

  • Patch your customer to the live fibre port

  • Take a picture of the FDH properly closed and supported

  • Can you see the red light

  • Take a walk round the building and upload pictures

  • You may have the wrong FDH location

  • If you have done all the above the main customer line could be damaged.

  • Why

  • Is there power at the CSP

  • Shine the red light from CSP to FDP

  • Take a picture of the red light in the FDP

  • Is there power in the splitter out FDP

  • Splice your customer to the live fibre

  • Neatly wrap and secure the spliced fibre

  • Take a picture of the joint complete ready for closure (Must include FDP name/number)

  • Take a picture of the FDP closed and properly secured in the chamber( name and number must be visable)

  • Is there power at all in the FDP

  • This is a network build issue (Pls provide pictures of main cable coming in has been tested to show no power)

  • Is there power in the CSP

  • Shine the red light from CSP to ASN

  • Take a picture of the ASN showing no power

  • Take a picture of the ASN showing red light passing through (from the back of the ASN)

  • Does the main cable comming to ASN have power (Please add pictures)

  • Trace the ASN main cable to locate where power should be coming from

  • Open the FDP and locate red light

  • Find a spare live fibre in the FDP

  • Splice the fibre to ensure ASN becomes live

  • Wrap and secure the FDP after fibre splicing

  • Take a picture of the FDP securely closed and supported in the chamber (FDP number/name must be visable)

  • Splice the splitter to the main coming in

  • ASN should now be live
