PRE-DEPARTURE

  • Ramp and Operational safety/diamond zoned free of any items that could interfere with the safe operations of GSE or cause FOD

  • Pre departure walk around performed

  • Steering by-pass pin installed or torque link disconnected prior to towbar attachment

  • Correct size of pushback tractor and towbar used for pushback

  • Pre-departure huddle/pushback briefing held

  • GPU removal procedures followed and power cord properly stowed

  • Conditioned air removal procedures followed

  • Pre-pushback procedures followed. GSE clear and outside operational safety/diamond zone. Chocks and cones/delineators not removed until servicing complete and GSE removed.

PASSENGER LOADING BRIDGE

  • Confirmed cabin secure before closing A/C door

  • Loading bridge procedures followed. Use of Marshaller. Marshaller used proper signals. Loading bridge properly stowed in designated position.

PASSENGER/CREW STAIRS

  • Confirmed cabin secure before closing A/C door

  • Passenger door closed and secured properly

  • Passenger/Crew Stairs procedures followed. Use of Marshaller. Marshaller used proper signals. Loading bridge properly stowed in designated position

DEPARTURE

  • Agent remains at safe position on bridge until the A/C clears the gate

  • If headset inoperative, flight crew briefed about the use of hand signals

  • Marshaling, Wingwalkers procedures followed. Proper number of wingwalkers. Proper signals. Wingwalkers and marshaller/pushback operator maintained clear line of sight at al times. Wingwalkers utilized safety wands(night wands when applicable)

  • Pushback procedures followed. Pushback operator used a maximum of a slow moderate waling pace during pushback. Tractor and towbar in line with the aircraft at the completion of pushback.

  • Steering by-pass pin removal, or torque re-connect procedures followed. Towbar disconnected (USE OF CHOCK) procedures followed.

  • Final dispatch/release procedures followed. Final marshaller held the STOP signal until all personnel and GSE were safely clear of the A/C. Final marshaller gave HOLD signal ONLY after the aircraft was clear of all persons and GSE

POST-DEPARTURE/RETURN & HOUSING

  • Pushback operator drove safely back into position. Wingwalkers marshaller conducted a FOD walk while waling back into the gate area.

  • Gate fully prepared for next arrival

  • Post departure briefing conducted prior to any crew member leaving the gate area.

PERSONNEL

  • Wearing proper PPE and proper uniform. Ramp personnel wearing hearing protection and reflective vests on arrival

  • Exhibited appropriate work behavior (i.e. no horseplay). Exhibited sense of urgency and awareness of operational timelines while following safe work practices. Processes completed with purpose.

  • Personnel use correct manual handling and lifting techniques

  • Ramp personnel avoided walking where not authorized (i.e. under fuselage, stepping over towbar, between bag carts.

  • Describe the threat(s). How did the crew manage or mismanage the threat(s)?
