  • 2.4 - Are all Exit doors easily opened from inside?

3.0 - General Lighting

  • 3.1 - Are the general areas brightly lit?

  • 3.2 - Are the stairs and emergency routes well lit?

  • 3.3 - Are all light fittings in good condition and not liable to fall during the event?

  • 3.4 - Are all Emergency lights operating?

4.0 - Building Safety

  • 4.1 - Are all floor surfaces even and uncluttered?

  • 4.2 - Are Entry and walkways kept clear?

  • 4.3 - Are all Stairs clear of obstruction?

  • 4.4 - Are all stair handrails secure?

  • 4.5 - Is their a process in place to ensure entrance ways are not slippery due to inclement weather?

6.0 - Rubbish Removal

  • 6.1 - Are Bins located at suitable points around building?

  • 6.2 - Are these Bins emptied regularly (as required)?

7.0 - Electrical Safety

  • 7.1 - Does someone know where the isolator switches are located?

  • 7.2 - Ensure that there are No broken plugs, sockets or switches?

  • 7.3 - Ensure that there are No power leads across walkways?

  • 7.4 - Ensure that No frayed or damaged leads are in use?

8.0 - First Aid

  • 8.1 - Is there a First Aid kit(s) readily available for use?

  • 8.2 - Is there a trained First Aider present?

  • 8.3 - Are responsible persons aware of location of first aid kit(s)?

  • 8.4 - Do you have the means to contact the emergency services if required (mobile / fixed phone)?

9.0 - Main Hall Hazards

  • 9.1 - Is all Furniture being used in good condition and not overloaded?

  • 9.2 - Are the toilet facilities checked regularly for cleanliness and consumables?

  • 9.3 - Are all hot water boilers inaccessible to the general public?

10.0 - Security

  • 10.1 - Are regular building patrols planned to ensure that the building is secure and only authorised access doors in use?

  • 10.2 - Is lone working minimised and if required does the person have the means to make contact in the event of an incident?
