DAILY PREPARATION

This is a brief checklist of items that should be done prior to beginning the work day.

Is the janitorial cart adequately stocked with items for the work day? (Refer to list of items needed)

The cart should contain (at minimum) the following items:

Do you or one of the workers have the daytime janitorial key set?

Wipe using rag/towel until glass is clean and free of streaks

Clean Glass Counter Top (display case)

Use clean rag or paper towel
Spray glass cleaner onto glass to be cleaned
Wipe using rag/towel until glass is clean and free of streaks

Empty Trash Can(s): Replace with correct bag

Dust Mop / Sweep Front Entrance Area

Mop Front Entrance Area

Fill mop bucket with water
Place "Wet Floor" signs in visible area near area to be mopped
Add cleaning solutions to water and wring out mop until damp
Mop area using a "figure 8" pattern
Rinse mop in mop water and wring as needed

Clean Toilet(s)

Apply toilet cleaning solution to toilet bowl
Spray cleaning solution under and on toilet seat area and base
Scrub inside toilet bowl with toilet brush
Wipe or scrub toilet seat (top and bottom)
Wipe or scrub toilet base and all exterior area of toilet

Clean Sink(s)

Use clean rag/paper towel
Apply cleaning solution to sink and sink fixtures
Wipe sink and sink fixtures until clean and free of streaks

Clean Mirror(s)

Use clean rag or paper towel
Spray glass cleaner onto mirror to be cleaned
Wipe using rag/towel until mirrir is clean and free of streaks

Check and Replace Toilet Tissue, Paper Towels and Soap

Add extra supplies if it is a Friday or if clients will not be cleaning the next day

Empty Trash Can(s): Replace with correct bag

Sweep Restroom

Mop Restroom

Fill mop bucket with water (if needed) or change mop water if too dirty
Place "Wet Floor" signs in visible area near area to be mopped
Place "Notice: Restroom Closed for Cleaning" sign(s) outside of bathroom
Add cleaning solutions to water (if needed) and wring out mop until damp
Mop area using a "figure 8" pattern
Rinse mop in mop water and wring as needed

Was the above repeated for all restrooms (to include the warehouse restrooms)?
