Golden Rule 1: Report Accidents, Incidents and Near Misses

  • Does the Go-Look-See team include the Head of Operations, or Senior manager deputy and another person (e.g. safety, environment, support function or trade union safety representative)?

Golden Rule 6: Hazardous Substances

  • Are hazardous substances properly labelled, stored and used, and included within the current inventory? <br>Do Chemical process equipment show evidence of drips, leaks, spills, accidental discharges, or other loss of containment?

  • Are hand tools and work equipment in good condition; inspected, tested and maintained as necessary?

  • Are plant and equipment safety devices in place and working?<br>Are equipments and machine in maintenance properly isolated?

Golden Rule 8: Safety Signs and Traffic Rules

  • Are safety signs (inside and outside buildings) respected? Are all pedestrian and traffic routes, particularly emergency escape routes free from obstruction?

  • Are all employees properly trained and competent for the tools they use?

  • Are employees aware of the evacuation and emergency safety rules? Specifically do they know the Environment & Safety Mandatory Golden Rules?

Golden Rule 10: Risk Awareness

  • Is all necessary emergency equipment readily available and up to date?

  • Are Contractor / maintenance activity risks being effectively managed?
