Site Safety Overview

  • Is the site secured (fenced off)?

  • Is a Hazard Board noted at the entry point to the construction site?

  • Are all contractors wearing appropriate safety gear for the construction works being undertaken (hard hats, steel boots, earmuffs, eyewear, harnesses etc)

  • Are either of these specific ‘high risk’ activities being undertaken while you are onsite?<br>

  • Does the excavation equipment have a visible safe zone and no contractors seen inside.

  • Are steps in place for contractors to easily evacuate the pit in the event of emergency (ladders, easy escape areas etc)?<br>

  • Is there a plan place to safely remove contractors in the event they are incapacitated in the pit (certified harness)?

  • Have contractors provided a specific Job Safety Analysis for this works?

  • Are steps of a Job Safety Analysis being observed onsite?

  • If applicable, are other contractors onsite briefed work being undertaken (identify cross contractor communication when both working onsite)

  • Identify any general risks onsite (trip hazards, confined spaces, working at height, diggers in operation etc), note the measured used by the contractor to mitigate these risks

  • Are you satisfied the contractors mitigation of these identified risks?

Induction and Documentation

  • Is the Foreman onsite at the time of inspection?

  • Is there a Site-Specific Safety Plan onsite?

  • Is there evidence of the ‘sign in’ register being used as intended?

  • Is there evidence of the site induction process being used as intended?

  • Is there evidence of the incident reporting & hazard register being used as intended?

  • Is there evidence of toolbox meetings onsite?

  • Is there evidence of Worksafe being advised on any high-risk activity?

  • Any other comments and/or photos?

  • Are you satisfied with the Induction and Documentation Procedures of the Contractor?
