SPIN BIKES LOCATED IN THE SPIN STUDIO

  • Select 5 Spin Bikes. Then use the slider bar to score each of the following questions, for example if 2 of the machines you have inspected reach the required standard then drag the slider to the 2 position, to show that 2 out of the 5 machines selected passed the inspection

  • Are the 5 selected Spin Bikes in a clean and hygienic condition.

  • Carry out a visual check on the 5 selected machines, are the covers and casings all attached and Undamaged.

  • On the 5 selected Spin Bikes check the saddles, handle bars pedals and pedal straps are fixed securely and they are wear and damage free.

  • Are all of the selected machines in a satisfactory condition, if not please use the box below to provide a serial number, GE number, equipment manufacturer and a brief description of the issue.

  • Carry out a short function test on the 5 selected Spin Bikes, check for a smooth operation, and that there are no squeaks or rattles. Adjust the tensioner to increase and decrease the effort required to pedal the spin bike, if fitted check the function of the trip computer.

TREADMILLS

  • Select 5 Treadmills From The Gym Floor.

  • Are The 5 Selected Treadmills in a Clean And Hygienic Condition.

  • Check the Tread Belts On The 5 Selected Machines, Are They in a Clean and Undamaged Condition, No Cuts, Tears Or Fraying To The Edges, Are The Belts Tensioned Correctly. Turn the belt by hand and visually check the wear indicator markings, these will be printed on the belt and if not visible this will indicate the belt requires replacing.

  • Raise The 5 Selected Machines And Check Each Power Cable Is Damage Free And Routed Correctly, are the power cables secured, usually with a cable tie.

  • Raise The 5 Selected Machines, Check The Floor Under The Machine And The Floor In The Immediate area Is In a Clean And Hygienic Condition.

  • Check The Casings And Covers On The 5 Selected Machines, Covers Should All Be In Place And Undamaged.

  • Carry out a short function test on the 5 selected Treadmills, check for a smooth operation, and that there are no squeaks or rattles. You should raise the treadmill to its maximum incline and back to its minimum, test the treadmill through a range of speeds, check hand controls and screen displays for correct operation, also check the operation of the emergency stop.

  • Select 5 Upright Bikes From The Gym Floor.

  • On the 5 selected Upright Bikes check the saddles, handle bars, pedals and pedal straps are fixed securely and they are wear and damage free.

  • Carry out a short function test on the 5 selected Upright Bikes, check for a smooth operation, and that there are no squeaks or rattles. Check the controls and screen displays for correct operation, increase and decrease the resistance settings can you feel the amount of effort required to move the pedals change accordingly?

STRENGTH EQUIPMENT

  • Select 5 items of strength equipment from the gym floor.

  • Are the 5 selected items of strength equipment in a clean and hygienic condition.

  • Carry out a visual check on the 5 selected machines, are the covers and casings all attached and undamaged.

  • Check the power lead is not damaged and is routed correctly, and not trapped under the machine.

  • Are The 5 selected items of strength equipment lubricated adequately. This includes crossbars and weight stacks, is the chrome plating on the weight rod stacks in good condition.

  • Check all the seats and padding are secure and damage free.

  • Are all cables and straps routed correctly and damage free. Check the entire length of the cables and straps through the cams and pulleys, check the cams and pulleys are clean.

  • Check the 5 selected items of strength equipment for visible signs of loose or missing nuts, bolts, screws or fixings.

  • Check any accessories for damage, examples include ropes, and handgrips.

  • Carry out a function test on the selected machines. Check for a smooth, noise free operation. Carry out a test with several different weight selections.

GENERAL

  • Has The Technogym Service Been Completed In The Last 6 Months Or 3 Months Where Appropriate. The fitness manager should be aware of the next scheduled service. contact Technogym if unsure.

  • Is the Latest Technogym Service Certificate Available On Site. The Fitness manager should have a copy on site.

  • Has The Gym Equipment On Site Been Bolted Down In Line With The Latest Specifcation.

  • Select 2 Items Of Small Equipment, Examples Include Dumbells, Mats, Stability Balls, Barbells Kettlebells, Viper, Inspect The Racks And Confirm That Each Rack Has a GE Number Attached To It. Are the selected small items in a good clean undamaged condition.

  • Log On To Fix It, have the previous months PPM checks been completed. If the PPM checks have not been completed, what % are incomplete.
