Prior to entering the vehicle:

  • 360 Circle of Safety: ensure you have no apparent hazards behind the vehicle, in front of the vehicle or under the tires.

  • Visually inspect the windshield wipers, if inclement weather is apparent.

  • Ensure the mirrors and all windows are free of dirt or cracks.

  • Ensure the windshield is free of cracks and vision will not be impaired.

  • Inspect for unsecured cargo

  • Inspect the tires for damage and proper inflation

After entering the vehicle and prior to departure:

  • Are insurance card and registration current and easily accessible?

  • Check all the lights to ensure they work.

  • Check the fuel gauge and other gauges to ensure they work.

  • Visually inspect the vehicle for per hair, debris, cigarette smoke or odors and genera cleanliness.

  • Fill out the Vehicle Mileage Log Book.

  • Ensure there is a first aid kit and fire extinguisher inside the vehicle.

  • Ensure you have an Incident Reporting Package in the glovebox.

After your trip is completed:

  • Ensure you are leaving the vehicle in good shape, no trash or debris anywhere.

  • Ensure the vehicle has enough fuel for the next employee.

  • Finish the Vehicle Mileage Log Book for your business trip and return it and the keys to your Fleet Manager.

  • Make sure you have backed into a parking spot, if available upon your return.

  • Add signature
