Inside the vehicle

  • Is the insurance, owner's manual and registration in the glove compartment or center console? Are the cards current?

  • The registration should be signed on the back and insurance card should not be expired.

  • Are there Vehicle Incident Reports available in the glove compartment?

  • Do all interior lights work?

  • Do the horn, dash lights and all gauges work properly?

  • Do the windshield wipers function properly? Is there adequate fluid level?

  • Is the mileage log present and up to date?

  • Is the first aid kit and fire extinguisher present, updated and inspected?

  • Does the AC/ heater work properly?

  • Are there floor mats present and are they clean?

  • Is there an adequate spare tire and a tire change kit present?

  • Are placards, door magnates, or contractor signage present and in good shape?

Outside the Vehicle

  • Is the body of the vehicle in good condition?

  • Look for dents, dings, scratches, broken items.

  • Are there at least two "2" traffic safety cones present?

  • Is the windshield free of cracks or chips?

  • Make sure there are no cracks or chips within the driver's field of vision.

  • Are the back glass, side windows, and mirrors clean and free of cracks?

  • Do the tires appear to have good tread and to be properly inflated?

  • Are the headlights, taillights, turn signals, emergency flashers, and brake lights in good working order?

  • Is the license plate present and stickers within date?
