  • Has the C.P. tagged the scaffold safe to use before workers start

  • Are all the scaffold components free from defects

  • Has the scaffold capacity and intended load been checked

  • Has the potential for electrical hazards been assessed and controlled

  • Are counterweights clearly marked with individual weight and securely attached to outrigger

  • Does the quantity of counterweight match what the configuration requires

  • Is the scaffold tied back to a structurally sound anchorage; are ropes equal in strength to suspension ropes

  • Suspension ropes inspected daily; (remove if: 6 random broken wires in a lay; 3 broken wires in a strand of lay)

  • Suspension ropes checked for kinks, abrasion, flattening, heat damage from torches

  • Gears of hoist are enclosed

  • Emergency brake is functioning

  • Is scaffold secured to prevent swaying

Scaffold Platform Inspection

  • Is platform fully planked or decked, free from holes and defects

Fall Protection (Six - 6')

  • Is there a guardrail, mid-rail, toe-board in place on all 4 sides of the basket; is it in good condition

  • Are scaffold users tied to an adequate anchorage independent from where the tie-back is anchored

  • Are fall protection life lines protected from abrasion
