Housekeeping Audit

Refer guidelines under each question and circle the most appropriate score according to the Ratings Codes:

  • 1 = Poor (immediate attention required)

  • 2 = Below Par (major improvement required)

  • 3 = Satisfactory (some improvements required)

  • 4 = Good (some improvement possible)

  • 5 = Excellent (no further action required)

  • 0 = Not Applicable

STORAGE AREAS:

  • Guidelines: Items are stored in designated racks, bins or storage areas where possible. There is safe access to high shelves. Storage is designed to minimise manual lifting. Storage areas are clearly marked and in an orderly condition. Manual handling aids (trolleys, forklifts, walkie stacker etc.) are available and utilised

DEFINED AISLES, WALKWAYS & EXITS CLEAR:

  • Guidelines: Floors (especially around racking) are clear of rubbish, cables and waste materials. Floors are kept clean, dry, swept regularly and free from obstruction. Tripping hazards are removed from floors. Defined aisles and walkways kept clear - all entry and egress walkways unobstructed. Cables and leads do not run across floors where people walk

SPILLS AND SLIPPERY SURFACES:

  • Guidelines: Any spills on floors are cleaned up immediately and not left unattended. Oily or slippery substances are not left to accumulate on floors. Any slippery surfaces are cleaned to remove the hazard, or cordoned off to prevent access until they can be restored to a safe state

NO UNWRAPPED PALLETS ABOVE HEAD HEIGHT:

  • Guidelines: All pallets stored in racking that are above head-height are wrapped and stored safely to avoid loose objects falling into aisles below. Any unwrapped pallets above head height should be addressed immediately

MATERIAL STACKING:

  • Guidelines: Goods stored in stacks (e.g. boxes in warehouses or internal storage areas) are stable with good foundations. Maximum stack height limitations adhered to. Integrity of boxes maintained, stacks not at risk of collapse

BINS, WASTE AND RECYCLING:

  • Guidelines: All bins are regularly emptied. Materials are not left overflowing bins as this poses a safety risk. Bins are located at suitable points around site. Waste streams are segregated where possible in separate bins / disposal units (e.g. recycling, organic, metals etc.). Waste materials recycled where possible. No cigarette butts inside or around outside of buildings, or anywhere on Legend's site as per Smoke-Free Workplace Policy

DELIVERIES:

  • Guidelines: Deliveries must not block walkways or nearby footpaths. Items delivered must be stacked appropriately

FORKLIFTS:

  • Guidelines: Pre-op checks completed. Machines are not leaking oil or other fluids. Oil-soaked rags not left lying around base of machines

CLEAR ACCESS TO EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT AND EXITS:

  • Guidelines: Access to emergency equipment (such as portable fire extinguishers, fire hoses and reels) and emergency exits is kept free from obstruction (e.g. waste material, stored products, trolleys, tables, machines, etc.)

PROPERTY ISSUES:

  • Guidelines: Alert Manager of any property related issues that need to be referred for rectification
