Are all fire extinguishers hung up in their correct locations with their safety pin seals unbroken?
Are all emergency call points and fire extinguishers accessible and unobstructed?
Is emergency exit route signage clear and all escape routes clear of obstructions?
Do all fire exit doors close freely and completely with the intumescent fire strips undamaged?
Is there any combustible material (paper, cardboard) stored adjacent to fire exits?
Are combustible materials stored near electrical equipment and fuse boards?
Is there any combustible material stored near to or underneath staircases?
Are any ceiling tiles missing or out of place?
Would all staff recognise the fire alarm sounder?
Do all staff know their escape routes, “toggle out” points and assembly areas?
Do you have persons with reduced mobility in your area?
Are there any electrical power cables daisy chained, or cable reels being used whilst wound?
Are there trip hazards in the workplace?
Are staff sitting comfortably and have monitors and keyboard correctly adjusted?
Are light levels satisfactory?
Are monitors free of flicker and keyboards and mice maintained?
Is the temperature maintained at a comfortable level?

Any staff taking risks lifting and moving heavy items?
Do staff have appropriate PPE (where required) and is it in good order?
Are First aid boxes and equipment clearly signed, accessible and the contents maintained?
Is shelving or racking secure, stable and not overloaded?
Are any step up platforms, ladders or step stools in use?
Do all kitchen appliances appear to be in good order with PAT tested labels attached?
Do staff always report accidents?
Do staff report near misses?
