Pre-Arrival

Aircraft Unload / Load

  • Does the Teamleader have a copy of the offload instructions?

  • Does all GSE (including hold stairs) positioned on the aircraft have a rubber bumper guard in good condition?

  • Are the cargo holds inspected for leakage and damage?

  • Does the teamleader have a copy of the LIR?

  • Are baggage and cargo checked before loading?

  • Are safety handrails stowed in their retracted position while GSE is in movement?

  • Does all equipment approach the aircraft at walking speed and carry out two brake checks / safety stops?

  • Is all GSE guided to the aircraft performed using approved hand signals?

  • Do employees (Swissport and third party) walk in between dollies or crossing dollies while these are connected to a motorized vehicle?

Departure

  • Is the nose gear bypass pin properly inserted prior to attaching the tow bar?

  • Did a guide person assist in attaching the tow bar?

  • Is all servicing equipment safely removed from the aircraft at walking speed and parked behind the equipment restraint line with brakes engaged (also non-motorized equipment)?

  • Are the safety cones properly after all GSE is clear?

  • Are the chocks removed only once the aircraft is ready for pushback?

  • Is a pre-departure walkaround inspection completed?

  • Is the tow bar and the tug aligned to the centerline of the aircraft, prior to push?

  • Are the marshaller & wing walkers in position and using wands / lights?

  • Is the bypass pin displayed to the flight crew?

  • Does the push tug return to the gate by driving forward into the gate area with the tow bar attached to the rear of the push tug?
