Processing

Lines/Bays and Floor

Carts and Tables

  • Carts are organized and stocked with necessary supplies/materials. Processing buckets have Secondary/HMIS Labels. Tables kept clean, arranged in orderly manner and set at the proper distance to allow work to be completed.

  • BEST PRACTICES/EXAMPLES: Supplies for processing a bed or mattress are available at workstation. Wipe tables between/before processing product. Product shelf of table is clean. Carts stocked with approved chemicals, rags, sponges, and tools.

Tools

  • Tools are arranged so they can be easily accessed when needed for use, are neatly stored, kept clean, and free of any risk of damage. Calibrated tools are within date parameters. WIP tools are not left on the floor.

Equipment

  • Washer/Dryer, Mattress and Cushion Tester, 3 Gauge Airflow Tester, Calibrated Equipment, weights, and other equipment are kept clean by routine daily care. Routine maintenance is performed, PM, and record logs are kept for required equipment.

  • BEST PRACTICES/EXAMPLES: Washer/Dryer should be cleaned daily. Preventive Maintenance Inspections Label on Mattress and Cushion Tester and dated within the last quarter. Rothe test equipment should be within date parameters.

  • BEST PRACTICES/EXAMPLES: Look for approved labeling on items, Arjo product cleaners or chemicals stored in this area with visible expiration dates.

Workstation

  • Workstation is clean, neat, and orderly. Only required documents are available at workstation, clearly labeled and stored in an organized manner. Obsolete documents must be disposed of.

  • BEST PRACTICES/EXAMPLES: Documents may include Service Order Inspection Lots, Process Decks, Product Labels, Secondary Serial Number bar codes, Down Unit Tags, QRG's, Demo Unit Tags, and Hold Tags.

Safety

  • Chemical spill kit, eyewash station, and PPE must be available. SDS Binder if required by state.

  • BEST PRACTICES/EXAMPLES: Eyewash station must be within 10 seconds of area of potential exposure. Eyewash station must be checked once a week and the tag must be marked each time. Chemical spill kit must be visible and readily accessible. PPE must be available.

Product

  • Products covered with a clear bag and a Service Order Inspection Lot. All products must display Arjo Rental Label and Secondary Serial Number Label in designated location. Product is within specified lane and at standardized shipping height. Pumps must be individually bagged with a Service Order Inspection Lot and stored appropriately. Product in repair must have a failed Service Order Inspection Lot and completed Down Unit Tag. Any product in the HOLD area must have a Hold Tag.

  • BEST PRACTICES/EXAMPLES: Product, parts, and accessories in READY, OFLOW and HOLD areas are used for storage of unrelated products. Parts for repair may be stored on the product intended for use in the REPAIR area. Accessories must be covered or wrapped in plastic.
