INTRODUCTION

  • The Purpose of this inspection is to identify potential hazards and risks whilst inspecting the SES Buildings and worksites. The questions and information contained within the report should be used to verify compliance for site and provide maintenance services.

EXTERNAL BUILDING INSPECTION

  • External building is clean and tidy

  • External walls in good condition

  • External downpipes in good condition

  • Footing and cement in good condition

  • Major repairs needed to external building

  • Is all SES and council equipment stored under cover

  • Are all steps/ramps in good condition

INTERNAL BUILDING INSPECTION

  • Internal walls in good condition

  • Is there evidence of leaking

  • Is the work area clearly marked with walk areas for visitors

  • Are all equipment accessible at all times

  • Are taps leaking in bathroom or toilet

  • Is toilet/toilets in good working order

  • Is the bathroom in good working order

  • Is there adequate space available for training and meetings

  • Is there adequate telecommunications operational

  • Is there internet access available

  • Is the air condition in good working order

  • Is there a security system in pace and is it operational

  • Is the kitchenette facilities in good condition

  • Is there adequate storage for equipment

  • Is the laundry and machinery in good condition

WATER QUALITY & EROSION CONTROL

  • Erosion controls are in good working order with excess sediment removed around building

  • Stockpiles are covered and or seeded

  • Is there evidence of sediment contamination to waterways

CHEMICAL STORAGE & DANGEROUS GOODS

  • SDS sheets are current and available

  • Reactive chemicals are separately stored as per ADG code

  • Bunds are adequate and undamaged

  • Chemicals are stored in bunded and covered areas

  • Spills kits are located at stored areas and are fully stocked

  • Refuelling is only undertaken in designated areas

WASTE MANAGEMENT

  • Wastes (eg: scrap metal, timber, tyres, ect.) are being segregated appropriately

  • Recyclable waste are being disposed of appropriately

  • Waste collection services are conducted regularly

VEGETATION AND FAUNA MANAGEMENT

  • Is the vegetation on property well maintained

  • Have there been any incidents involving native fauna? If so, refer to in comments.

  • Have all potential breeding locations for pest fauna (eg: pooling water for mosquitoes) been removed.

AIR, NOISE AND MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Dust suppression activities conducted as needed

  • Machinery is serviced and in good working order

  • Are maintenance works adhering to designated hours

  • Are all equipment that require test & tag, in date

PEST MANAGEMENT

  • Is there evidence of rodents or pest fauna

  • Is the pest control tags in date
