Operations & Safety (All Types of MHEs)

Daily Safety Inspection

  • The Operator completes the Pre-Start Safety Inspection correctly according to Jungheinrich Standards.

  • The Operator fully understands the Load Capacity Chart & Truck Data Plate.

  • The Operator understands the correct fault reporting procedures.

  • If a fault has been found, the MHE must be parked in a safe place and the key is to be removed / Emergency Button Activated. A signboard indicating that the vehicle is "Off-Road" should be displayed. The fault must be reported to a member of the Safety/Management Team immediately.

Operator Safety & Observation

  • The Operator mounts/dismount the MHE correctly using 3 Points of Contact at all times. ( 2 Hands & 1 Leg )

  • The Operator performs safety checks on Seat Belt and Correct Usage

  • The Operator keeps body parts within the confines of the MHE

  • The Operator is seated properly and facing the direction of Travel at all times

  • The Operator ensures appropriate usage of the Horn

  • The Operator is able to adjust his speed accordingly to ground situtation

  • The Operator has good all-round Safety Observation in place

Steering & Controls Operation

  • The Operator ensures proper Starting & Stopping Procedures

  • The Operator ensures correct use of the Steering Assistor

  • The Operator checks surrounding before performing any change of direction

  • The Operator is able to perform Motor Braking / Smooth Stop of MHE

  • The Operator is able to determine turning radius in all situations and act accordingly

  • The Operator ensures Parking Brake is released before moving off

  • The Operator is able to perform smooth operations on the Hydraulic Controls

  • The Operator ensures Forks are atleast 20cm off ground level before moving off

  • The Operator is able to engage Emergency Stop immediately upon Instruction from Trainer

Basic Maintenance and Care

  • The Operator understands that MHE needs to be kept clean at all times

  • The Operator understands that he can only use a damp cloth to clean the truck

  • The Operator ensures that there are no foreign object stuck in the moving parts of the MHE at all times

  • The Operator understands that the tires need to be replaced when they have touched the wear indicator point

  • The Operator understands that the battery cannot fall below 30% of Charge at all times

  • The Operator is able to perform safe charging and battery water top-up

  • The Operator is able to perform proper Charging Disconnection by pressing the STOP Button before unplugging the charger from the MHE

  • The Operator is aware that Opportunity Charging cannot be done on Lead Acid Batteries

Load Handling

  • The Operator ensures to check load is properly secured/wrapped

  • The Operator ensures to check load is in good condition, free from damage

  • The Operator ensures to check pallet is free from damage

  • The Operator ensures the Fork is atleast 3/4 inserted into the Pallet before picking up load

  • The Operator ensures load is centered as much as possible

  • The Operator is able to approach the load slowly and carefully

  • The Operator ensures load is tilted backwards after picking up

  • The Operator ensures mast is lowered down and enough clearance is achieved before going through at doorways or gantries

VNA Specialised

  • The Operator ensures both side gates are closed before starting the VNA

  • The Operator ensures to wait for the VNA to calibrate upon turning on the key

  • The Operator is able to perform Reference Check

  • The Operator ensures that the Display Panel & Controls is in good working condition

  • The Operator ensures 2 Hand Operation Sensor is working correctly

  • The Operator ensures that no other VNA or Pedestrian is in the Aisle before entering

  • The Operator ensures Forks are in Home Position before any movement is to be performed

  • The Operator ensures mast is lowered down and enough clearance is achieved before going through at doorways or gantries

  • The Operator is able to Enter/Exit the Aisles using IF/Guide Rail System
