Pre Use Checklist

  • Safe Operation: I have read the Standard Operating Procedure and understand how to safely use the Kingsland Iron Worker machine.

  • Correct PPE: Ensure you are wearing the correct PPE before operating the machinery. The correct PPE includes safety boots, safety glasses, hi-vis clothing, safety gloves and hearing protection.

  • Pre Use Check: Ensure all stations are free of obstructions/trip hazards.

  • Pre Use Check: Check all tooling is in good condition before operating machine.

  • Pre Use Check: Visually check for any signs of wear, rust, or damage on the machine’s exterior.

  • Pre Use Check: Ensure the machine frame and structure are stable and in good condition.

  • Pre Use Check: Ensure the punch stripper plate is adjusted correctly with sufficient clearance to allow <br>positioning and removal of the material being punched.

  • Pre Use Check: Check the punch and dies for any damages. Ensure the punch and die are properly aligned before use.

  • Pre Use Check: Ensure the Punch tooling guarding is in position and safe.

  • Pre Use Check: Ensure the hold-down mechanism at the shearing station is working effectively.

  • Pre Use Check: Verify that all electrical components, including switches, buttons, and lights, are functioning properly.

  • Pre Use Check: Ensure hold-down is always set for relevant thickness of material being sheared.

  • Note: The machine should never be left running while unattended.

  • Note: When leaving, the machine MUST be switched off.

  • Note: Remove off-cuts, slugs and any other waste from around the machine before leaving the work<br>station.

  • Note: Any point of the machine painted YELLOW should be treated as a danger area. Do not extend any finger or limbs into or beyond the vicinity of the warning labels.
