TOPSIDE

  • Is Safety Walk being completed on a daily basis?

  • Hood props in good condition and used properly? Remove any that are broken or missing tips.

Tire Rotation

  • Check condition of tire rotation lifts

  • Check condition of rubber blocks/adaptors, extensions, and arms. Insert photo of any defects.

  • Do team members know the proper safety cautions with their lifts? Ask about double stacking blocks, bounce procedures, lift maintenance etc.

  • Are there current maintenance work orders submitted for any defects? If 'no', show a Sr. Technician how to properly submit a work order for any defects.

  • Does the store have ALL of the proper tire rotation tools in accordance with the tool audit? Please list any missing tools to be ordered in the notes section.

Machines

  • Are the ATFE/Radiator machine power cords in good condition? Check insulation, Clamps, and connections. Ensure a work order is submitted for any defects.

  • Does the store have all the appropriate adaptors, and are they in good condition? Verify on the tool audit, and list any missing adaptors/tools.

  • Are the wheels in good condition (no chunks missing, properly installed, brakes engage properly)?

Tools/Equipment

  • Verify the condition of topside tools. Is the team using unapproved or broken tools? Throw them away.

  • Are air hoses/lines in good condition and stored properly?

  • Is pit netting, latches, and 3-piece bars in good condition?

  • Are wrenches stored in pit?

Floors

  • Are the topside floors free of oil sheen?

  • Are there any areas of the topside floor that require maintenance? Help SCM submit a work order if any unsafe conditions found.

  • Are the blue boxes and blue stripes present and in good condition? Help SCM in finding appropriate paint and schedule time to complete.

Slip/Trip/Fall

  • Are there any plumbing leaks (also check restroom and oil bar/gun rack lines)?

  • Anything left on stairs?

  • No parts/tools/equipment left in travel paths.

  • Check each team members' shoe condition. Have SCM immediately order replacement pairs with next day shipping for any unsafe footwear.

  • Are team members holding both handrails?

  • Are team members traversing stairs slowly?

  • Team members moving around with awareness? No walking backwards, no running, not walking distracted ie. cell phone etc.

  • Is the topside step stool stored out of the way when not in use?

  • Are all step stool feet in good condition and does the store have replacements in stock? Assist SCM in ordering if not.

BOTTOMSIDE

  • Is the overall work area free of clutter and well organized?

  • Check for proper operation of exhaust fan. Assist SCM in submitting work order if necessary.

  • Are there any unapproved tools in use? Remove any unapproved tools from the service center.

  • Are there any broken or missing tools?

  • Is the bottomside floor free of oil sheen? Are there oil spots left unattended?

  • No aerosols stored bottomside.

  • No liquids stored above shoulder level

  • No pump/line leaks

  • Overstock put away neatly, and out of travel paths.

  • Is the bottomside technician completely clear for fluid fills and zoom?

  • Check condition of bump cap face shields. No missing or loose hardware.

  • Are PPE cleaning procedures and storage being executed correctly? Include picture of storage area.

  • Ask team members about any special hazards particular to their service center.

  • Is 18" ratchet first tool for drain plugs?

  • Is 18" ratchet first tool for oil filters?

Stairs

  • Is anything blocking stairwell/emergency exits?

  • Is the bottomside technician utilizing BOTH hand rails, and not running or skipping steps?

  • Are stair treads and handrails secured properly? Assist SCM in submitting work order if necessary.

  • Bottomside catwalks/stairs free of towels,leaves etc. ?

  • Check condition of grip tape on catwalk stair handrails.

  • Are employees going down pit stairs backwards?

DVR

  • Watch tire rotation procedure being performed. Is lift being used properly, proper procedures, two-person lifts, no gloves when using gun etc.

  • Watch a radiator service being performed. Remove cap first, correct PPE etc.

  • Stretches performed on camera by all team members?

  • Watch video when SCM was not scheduled. Check for any unsafe behaviors. Include relevant photos.

Knowledge Check

  • Do team members know proper procedures to follow for a disabled vehicle?

  • Can team members explain the proper injury reporting procedures?

  • Have a team member show you the first aid cabinet. Is it properly stocked?

  • Role play an injury scenario with a Sr. Tech/ASCM. Can the team member adequately explain how to handle the scenario appropriately?

  • Ask a team member to show you the Radiator Decision Checklist. Have team member explain why each step is important when relating to injury.
