Purpose
-
The purpose of this evaluation is:
a) To ensure all lifeguards are consistently demonstrating a high standard of vigilance, focus and concentration at all times;
b) To ensure all lifeguards remain 'rescue ready'at all times
c) To ensure all lifeguards are maintaining the 30-Second Awareness Standard;
d) To ensure all lifeguards are maintaining the 3-Minute Awareness Standard (at approved BlueFit sites; and e) To ensure all lifeguards are able to recognise, arrive at and render assistance to a GiD or submerged ED tool within 30 seconds (or 3 minutes at an approved BlueFit site)
Scope

The scope of this evaluation is limited to the examination and evaluation of activities undertaken by the Auditee, in relation to conforming to the Vigilance Evaluation Drill & KPIs
Compliance Scoring

Performance criteria of an individual lifeguard observation are categorised as ‘MEETS or NRT’ (needs retraining).
- If a lifeguard is observed recognising and retrieving the ED Tool or GiD within 30 seconds, the result is a ‘MEETS’;
- If a lifeguard is observed not recognising and retrieving the ED Tool or GiD within 30 seconds, the result is a ‘NRT’; and
- If a lifeguard receives a ‘NRT’ result, they will be provided the opportunity to complete a re-drill within 7 days
